Borrowers and group leaders will be able to place ads for loan listings with enhanced interactive features to showcase loans, open up discussion and allow for a more thorough and in depth interactive process for every Prosper loan. A series of interrelated resources will be available to create more knowledgeable borrowers, more involved group leaders and more informed lenders.

BorrowLend.com will be the destination of choice to view new listings and learn about new loans. The main reason for our site is for interaction between group leaders, borrowers, and lenders with respect to loans. Borrowers or Group leaders will be able to place an ad for their loan or for their members with lots of added features not available on Prosper which we will discuss shortly. One of the main advantages of our listings will be the vetting process that is available to group leaders. Prosper has recently added a group leader endorsement section but it is not dynamic. We will be implementing a vetting system that will allow the GL and other vetters to post vetting information and comments on each listing and update as neccesary. This vetting will be a searchable item and the listings will be appropriately marked as vetted as seen in green below. This screenshot shows the opening section for a placed loan ad. It gives a general overview and allows for a direct link to the prosper member page, the prosper listing page, as well as a quick link to bid on the listing.

The vetting info section will allow the group leader to add any information they see fit and unlike Prosper will be updatable at any time with additional information as it becomes available. Additional information will also be made available in this section to help lenders make a wise decision.

Anyone can help spread the word about BorrowLend and get paid for their efforts. All affiliates will be provided a unique affiliate code and be able to spread the word on a website, blog, newsletter, or by word of mouth using a combination of text ads and banner ads. We will also be accepting partners that provide additional useful services to our members such as stats etc. and will allow integrated custom advertising to support their efforts such as Adwords, textads, adbrite, etc.

Prosper only allows GL's to say something about a loan. Others such as lenders have to go outside the listing and place comments on a buried forum thread or else say nothing at all. BorrowLend.com will allow anyone to add their comments about a loan or rate a good loan higher to help get it more exposure. This additional information will allow a more informed decision by everyone on the loan be it good or bad. We will also link to additional comments or resources available on other Prosper related sites to help lenders get the best overall picture on the loans worth and credibility.

You not only want feedback on an individual and their loan, you also need to know about the group. Prosper has no way to rate groups other than complaining on the forums and we all know that only a few ever see that. BorrowLend.com will have an integrated feedback forum like Ebay that allows for positive and negative ratings from anyone to give a real score for groups and their leader based on those that have dealt with them. We will also be integrating with any new star ratings based on defaults from Prosper and other stats so everyone can see the whole picture on good and bad groups.

So how do group leaders and other make determinations on a particular loan listing? On Prosper there isn't much to go from other than the short description, and a credit score. The prosper listing is also static and doesn't allow for any additional info often forsing relistings. Our listing will allow the borrower to add additional details at any time and address new issues that come up throughout the course of the listing. They also will be able to post documentation such as a sanitized credit reports or other info to help self-vet their listing with supporting data that everyone can access and read without having to bother the group leader or borrower for the information. Below you can see that a credit report and paycheck stub have been uploaded for lenders to review.

Borrowers will be able to add as much or as little contact information as they want. They can list phone, fax, email whatever they want. GL's and lenders will be able to see if the borrower is online allowing for easy communication which will be discussed later. Another aspect of vetting is truth in identity and reputation. We will be integrating with Trufina verfied identity and Rapleaf reputation service to enhance your confidence in the borrower.

Just because you know who someone is doesn't make them trustworthy. BorrowLend will be integrated with a new online trust compnay called Rapleaf which is basically an Ebay reputation available for all internet websites and interactions. One of the problems with Prosper is that the listing is limited to text and a few pictures. BorrowLend.com will expand on that by opening up full resolution photos, as well as uploadable mp3 option for a personal audio voice description of the loan as well as integration of any online video services such YouTube or Google video, allowing for a more personal view of the borrower and their plans for their loan.

One of the problems with Prosper is that as a borrower or group leader you can't control if people will see your ad. If you get lucky you show up on the front page, but you have to be just that, lucky. BorrowLend.com will allow complete control of your ads online. You will be able to update, renew you ad, see how many times people have looked at it, and you will be able to prioritize where your listing shows up on the search results. You can bold your ad title to stand out, enhance its visibility with color, or put yourself higher on the results order by making your ad featured, or upgrading to the next highest ad priority. Your exposure to possible lenders is up to each borrower or group leader. Also, unlike Prosper your listing here can be instantly renewed and applied to any new Prosper listing that you place so it is easy to use.

One of the problems with Prosper is that the knowledge needed to be a quality borrower, group leader or even lender is scattered amoung many Prosper pages and even more is scattered on various forum pages. BorrowLend.com will maintain a comprehensive database of user submitted questions that will answer most common problems. Proactive community leaders will be given user accounts to answer questions that have been submitted. All questions will be searchable for easy access. This will prevent GL's from having to answer common questions over and over again and will lead to more productive listings.

Every listing will have an integrated wiki page that can be used for any purpose. The wiki will have an interactive discussion tab that will allow threaded discussion from both the borrower, group leader, and lender. The picture below shows the discussion board on our wiki. The wiki can also be used by the community to create pages on anything related to Prosper, borrowing or lending. The community can join together to create the ultimate guide for the perfect listing, a page for lessons learned by lenders, or what services a group leader can provide. The sky is the limit and with a what you see is what you get editor no wiki formatting knowledge is required.

One of the problems with the Prosper membership process is that group leaders cannot customize the data they want to receive from their prospective members. Our site will allow GL's to use prebuilt form templates or build custom forms that will allow applications from prospective group members.

These membership forms will be outside Prosper of course, but will allow any field they want that they require as part of membership. They also can be used simply as an informational form for members you have already approved through Prosper. GL's can even add this info into the database themselves. Certain fields can be mandatory to prevent unfilled applications and to ensure GL's are getting the information they really want.

Integrated into the forms is a complex mailing list application. GL's will be able to make unlimited mailing lists, newsletters using custom brandable templates, and autoresponders. Possible uses include support based autoresponders for group members or creating a list for supporting lenders to update them on group loan defaults.

One of the problems with Prosper is that GL's have a hard time communicating with their groups in an effective manner, often having to email users one at a time. Our mailing lists will be sortable and filterable based on many different variables including filters for all custom fields. Send one email to the exact people you want. All fields can be inserted into emails for one-on-one personalization.

One of the problems with Prosper is that GL's are not on an even platform. Those that have experience with webpages can enhance their userbase while others cannot. Even if GL's make a website, the good information and useful resources get spread out among many sites and get lost in a sea of group pages and forum threads. BorrowLend is going to even the field and create a central source for Prosper, borrowing and lending information. GL's and lenders as well will be able to create articles and blog entries for everyone to read. Useful data, great articles, and interesting perspectives will be in one place, searchable and available to everyone. Our integrated RSS syndication will allow authors to share their content instantly.

Group Leaders, Lenders, or even borrowers will be able to have hosting for a website for personal, group, or informational use. HTML or other coding experience will not be neccesary. We can transfer any website and all hosted sites will be featured on our sites and services. Want email accounts, domain registration, or other hosting services, we've got that too.

Another benefit that BorrowLend will create for all groups are user forums. Now everyone will have a central forum for viewing. The forum will be a prominent component of our website so all borrowers, lenders, and GL's will know about it truely making it an interactive forum for discussion. All groups will also be able to have a members only forum that will allow each group leader to moderate their own community for discussion. The forum will be integrated into the main site login so there will not be a seperate login like Prosper.

One of the problems with Prosper is that the ability to search for particular loans that meet your needs as a lender. Our system will have an advanced search function that will be quite dynamic. If it is in the listing it will be searchable. See an example advanced search form below.

Our category listings will be sortable and fully searchable as seen above. Do a search for vetted loans and get a list of loans that are vetted like below. You will then be able to sort your listings by group/rate/credit grade or whatever you want.

Feature: Refined Search(back to top)

Once you search for particular loans you will also be able to refine your search. When a user performs an advanced or quick search, a "Filter By" block appears next to the matching listings displayed. This block provides ability to narrow down search results by different field values such as credit grade, DTI, etc. Simply add multiple filters to narrow the loans or remove them to expose more loans.

Users will even be able to save searches. If you save a search you made for AA loans with a 10-11% rate with a DTI of 0-8% we will send you an email when any new listing appears that meets your criteria. No more time wasted searching for loans that fit your needs, we'll email you when they are added. Its like a standing order but with a personal controllable touch.

Even if you don't want to get emails about new listings, you may still find listings interesting that you don't want to bid on yet. Simply add any listing to your favorites and that listing will be one click away until it expires or is removed by you. You have limited funds, but several possible loans. Once you find the ads that meet your standards, you will still need to compare them to see how one loan compares to another. BorrowLend.com will have a comparison function that will allow you to compare several loans side by side to see which one is best. Select the ads you want to compare and you can instantly see the differences in the listings allowing you to make a smarter decision on who to lend to.

Every user on BorrowLend will have an instant messenger available to them using the Jabber network. If a borrower is online add them as a buddy and begin a chat. Add favortite group leaders, or other lenders to your buddy list and be able to talk to them instantly if they are logged in.

A group leader want to have an open chat with thier members, common lenders want to discuss a loan, borrowers want to chat with a lender to talk over their loan. All of these things can be done by creating and opening a chat room for your own purposes. Everyone can always see the status of those logged in or not so invitation and chatting is a breeze.

BorrowLend.com will have an internal messaging system like Prosper but it will be more flexible. Our email system will be private and internal and will have folders functionality and will display status of message read/unread,etc. for easier viewing. It will even be linked to the listing so you can easily browse to the listing in question. No more manual references or searching to find a listing in question. Our emails will even allow attachments to facilitate interaction between lenders and borrowers.
